Brindle is a marking which appears as a stand-alone marking or as a marking modifier when dominant. When using Brindle as a marking, it typically fades into the coat. This marking creates an almost 'ticked' effect on the coat and can use up to 2 shades when recessive nBr, and 3 shades when dominant BrBr. When using Brindle as a marking modifier, it follows the rules of that other marking as far as coverage goes, and changes it from a solid marking to a brindled one. Brindle can affect variations and mutations which interact with the ranges shown. eg. Mane has a similar range to the normal neck, Mohawk can be fully covered by Brindle, and Waverider has ranges depending on where the brindle intersects. Brindle does NOT affect any horn or spiny variations, such as Spiked Spine, Ram Horns or Plated. See below for examples. Left an example of Brindling. Right an example of dominant Brindle (BrBr) modifying the Tips marking. |
